I don't understand why they give good reviews to this Windows Photo Gallery when it can't even do the basic of the basics, ie: flip a photo!! So many useful features which they were in Picture Manager have disappeared here, apart from some basic filters, the other features are pretty useless - Facebook, YouTube, tags etc....How come Windows Word have more Picture editing options than Photo Gallery!!! Please Microsoft sort it out!

Can't "SAVE AS", need to "Make a Copy" and then click several times to "Revert to Original"
Microsoft Word has more pictures tools, these should transferred to PhotoGallery
Can't see all the pictures in thumbnails, as used to see in Picture Manager

WLPG has punishing limitations that require tolerance and a comprehensive understanding of its weaknesses; however WLPG is straightforward in its design and approach making it user friendly overall. The program is really designed for those that are willing to accept the inherent flaws built into the system! Scrolling through multiple photos within a file is sluggish and occasionally unresponsive. WLPG spontaneously deletes photos unchecked for this process making retrieval difficult at times. The photo editing built into WLPG is very rudimentary and not worth the effort.
Taking into consideration that WLPG is a free program that should be all one needs to know to make an informed decision. I use WLPG as a staging area for file transfers to alternative software programs and as a basic backup to those files.
Pros: None
Cons: Program needs restructuring.

Nice to know I am not the only one who is unhappy with this program update. The old one was great! I did the simple edits I wanted and moved on. Now I have to go through the gallery of pictures that I don't need them to organize for me. I don't want to see it linking to every photo on my computer. I hate, hate, hate, 2011 software update and have been busily looking for the older version. I'm told this is like the Mac, well if we wanted Mac style than we'd be using a Mac. If you really feel you want this feature, than re-config the software so it opens files like the older editor and then add an option for your new features to organize, post, tag. I don't use this soft ware for those things, it was always an editor and now the editor has taken a second seat. This way we can use it in the custom we grown to know and love.
Pros: No pro's, pre 2011 upgrade was a better program.
Cons: Opens as the main features of this software are tagging, posting or organizing photosm, not the edit feature. Don't want to see the whole history.

Windows Live Photo Gallery, it was a very good program until the 2011 UPDATE
which I upgraded to, and was very sorry that I did since I was not able to find
a copy of the before upgraded program! If you get something good from MS better keep
it and not upgrade. Old Version would remove SHADOWS out of Your Pictures and the New Version is not worth Copying into Your PC.

It randomly puts the pics whereever it wants and try to find them. Hate it, hate it, hate it! Is difficult to use. Hides the photos in other folders, by date. I have photos from 2007 in 2011 folder! Why would I look there????? With 3500+ photos, it is a nightmare to try to find a photo, let alone edit it. No way to manually straighten a photo. I can't think of anything good to say about it.

Cons: The entire program!!! The older versions were so easy to use. Could edit post a photo in less than minute. Now takes 5-7 to locate, edit (good luck with that) and post. Why would anyone want to use this ill-conceived program. How can I get the older version back?

In the older version on windows XP I was able to print one photo at a time in the size that I wanted. In the new verwsion on Windows 7, I have to print multiple prints of the same photo. Minimum of 2, 4x6 or larger until I got to the 8x10. I find this version more frustating to use so therefore I don't use it. This is the worst photo program I have ever had.
